What inspired you to launch your own website?
My absolute passion is to help people feel better and I feel I have a unique way of helping people through a form of pain-free acupuncture. Its a way that people can come in and enjoy a relaxing treatment while getting the full benefits of acupuncture along with energy work.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This website has only been up for a few months. I did have a mobile massage business a couple of years ago and used the website innersanctumhealing.com.au
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Pain-Free Acupuncture is the most accurate way I can explain what I do for people. It is the essence of how I like to treat people.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The main thing that makes my acupuncture different to other acupuncturists is that it is pain-free.
Pain-Free Acupuncture uses fine needles and, in many cases, non-insertive Japanese techniques to give you an extremely refreshing and relaxing experience which is 100% Pain-Free. Qigong is incorporated (similar to Reiki) as a peaceful treatment which utilises the energy from the environment to completely calm your mind, body, and soul. This is done by transfering energy through the needles. I do not need to physically manipulate them, therefore avoiding the pain that most people experience with acupuncture.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
My long term goal is to have someone working for me and eventually becoming a silent partner in the business. I will then look to starting franchises around Australia.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
At the start the investment is always larger than the gain, but later on the balance starts to work the other way.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would start franchising now!
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absolutely. I know where to find other acupuncturists who I can train to become great healers.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
I go by the 80/20 rule... 80% is unexpected:) Without going into specifics to secret is to expect unexpected costs.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Starting off the business was my biggest challenge. That being said, I always look forward to the next challenge.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of mouth is always the most successful not just in the form of referrals but more by setting up business relationships with other companies in the local area.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
No different. It has gone quite smoothly actually.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
The site has only been up a few months. I don't plan on not getting the traffic needed therefore I will be up for a long time to come.
