The Philippines is home to the most number of breast cancer patients in all of Asia, and is considered to have he 9th highest incident rate of breast cancer in the world. So the event is a great help to motivate the Filipino people and be aware of breast cancer.
I know a lot of people who suffered and died out of breast cancer. My friend, grandmother and high school professor - all three of them died of breast cancer. Breast cancer is considered a silent killer because symptoms from it are hard to distinguish if you are not aware of the disease. Famous comedienne Zorayda, died last September 28 because of breast cancer. She only discovered her cancer not a year ago.
Cancer cells spread in your body very rapidly. If it does reach your liver, kidneys and other organs, it will be hard to take it away. Treatment of the cancer can be through partial radiation or in worst cases, removal of the whole breast called mastectomy.
