Sprouts have been the craze of salad bars. Dozens--probably hundreds--of salad varieties are actually mixed with these greenies. A major reason why they are added is because they are packed with nutrients. Now, there may be more reasons to add them to your salad.

Recent studies show that certain sprouts have curative properties and can protect us against diseases. Some of these functions are are controlling hot flashes and reducing bad cholesterol in our bloodstream.

Three Alfalfa Sprout Products Contaminated with Salmonella

In a previous post, a site mentioned the possible benefits of alfalfa sprouts once we choose to include them in our diet. They're healthy food items. There's no doubt about it.
