What inspired you to launch your own website?
The love of massage chairs.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is the first.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We were trying to get away from the typical naming conventions, yet have relevance to our category.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We have more experience, hand select the top models, testing massage chairs is tough work. We provide better service and will give you the best deal. We ship everywhere, you'd be surprised where massage chairs end up!!!
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Its my passion, I love the work, the rest follows
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
When I got time, I got no money and when I have money, I got no time.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I really don't want to delegate the R&D of massage chairs to anyone else. Life has its rewards, I guess I could ramp it up and then cookie cutter it into different prdouct niche segments, but if that was the most important, then I would have already done it.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, absolutely. We work directly with the manufacturers, who can respond very quickly.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Plan the work, work the plan, watch plan fall apart. Pick up the pieces, go back to square 1. then plan the work, work the plan,, well you get it.
Besides that, well chairs get lost, misrouted, end up in a different country--fun, fun fun . Yes sir the chair you ordered for your house in the The Netherlands is currently in Isreal, we should get it rerouted back to you shortly.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Matching product trends with demand and keeping the traffic flowing to the site to keep it all afloat.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Word of Mouth. The amount of repeat business from a few influential people is the highest leveraged marketing available.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Its a lot of detail and discipline with few rewards. The web is like Vegas, you win a little with the hope of winning a lot.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
7 years and will run indefinately.
