Please give us a short summary of your website?
Website announces classes, workshops and conferences in Hawaiian healing, spiritual and cultural arts. Most of the classes are taught by native Hawaiian elders, who are masters at their crafts or healing techniques.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Our foundation was created to help perpetuate the healing arts and culture of Hawaii, which is an ancient and very spiritual culture.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
2003
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We asked one of the native Hawaiian kupuna (elders) for an appropriate name.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
There are no similar offerings.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To share with the world a culture based on aloha (love) and to help support the Hawaiian culture maintain its integrity.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
If succes is based in dollars we are losers. If success is based on having a positive outcome in people's lives we are very successful.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Much more advertising.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
All of it because we didn't have any idea what we were doing.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Getting the information out there on a limited budget.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
internet
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Will keep it up as long as there is interest.
