In many Asian countries, exorcism is just as normal as they would eat many times a day. In particular, exorcism has become a normal part of people living in the South East Asia with Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand at the front. These exorcism practices are most of the times backed by most of their nature based religions. However, the Philippines with its exorcism practices suffer great bashing from the Catholic church itself. Before I discuss things, let me have you watch this video.
The exorcism agent in the video, Ka Emong, is really one of the most famous in the metro. I have seen tons of his videos and TV appearances showing his exorcism methods, claiming to have freed hundreds and thousands of bodies from being inhabited by bad spirits.
But this event is actually a very isolated matter. If you would look at it, only those people who cannot afford to send their children to seek proper medication from hospitals and experts are said to claim 'they suffer from spirit alienation'. It has always been the point where a lot of people look at the practice as fake. They said people only claim to have this events to save them from the worries of not being bale to send their kids to hospitals and have science be blamed for it's lack of knowledge about paranormal phenomenon.
The Philippines is the largest Christian country in Asia. And these exorcism exercises are bashed by the church big time. The church, however, is more scientifically base. They would advise people seeking their help first to consult a medical expert many times because they believe these medical professionals are used as an instrument by God. In case science could not do anything about it, that is when the church interferes.
These alternative faith healing done both by an exorcist and the church are often not accepted by the elite people who mostly depends on science and the youths who are born in the modern age. But really, no one really know what's real and what's not.
