Last time I was lucky enough to see an actual acupuncture session on my friend's father. It was a house service and the acupuncturist is a Chinese doctor. I don't really like seeing needles being inserted on your muscles but I was kinda interested to how they do it so I still watched it. At first it was kinda scary that they will insert those long needles at your back, your neck, upper hips and other parts, but I didn't see the patient moving so I thought it doesn't hurt at all. Well, if you want to see how does an acupuncture start, have a look at this.
Acupuncture is part of the ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a medical practice that can be dated back back in their oldest civilizations. They have been doing it for thousands of years.
Acupuncture is now a very popular semi-medical procedure in many countries, even in the western part of the globe. Though a lot are still hesitant to try these procedures because it doesn't have any real hard proofs, there are still a lot who dare tries this kind of alternative medicine.
There are other types of acupuncture aside from inserting needles in the muscles. There are what we call fix cupping, where a heated glass/cup is placed on the back, moving cup method and others. Acupuncture is good for muscle pains of the back, muscle spasms and is also said to help get rid of your love for cigarettes. Makes sense for chain smokers.
