What inspired you to launch your own website?
If you are unsure on what type of Natural Medicine you are looking for it can be a big task to scour the internet to find releo date information. This website overcomes that problem by joining all of the different natural medicine types together in one site.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was launched in 2006. It is a family business website for a motel in NZ. What a learning curve since then.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I normally try and name my website around keywords to give that added SEO kick.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
The fact that you have all of the major Natural Medicine types all tied easily together makes it easy to compare different treatments. There is also an Alternative Medicine blog so you can access the latest information.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
At this time I want to keep improving the site. I tend to become quite attached to my sites.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
This site was only launched in March 08 so is only 6 weeks old. So it is kind of hard to judge yet.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I wouldnt make any changes. I am very pleased with the way it is.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
In business you need to be able to cope with growth, which is normally what you are aiming for. If you are not able to cope with the workload, then it is a good time to outsource.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Haven't had any yet. Touch wood.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge so far has been learning php and css. But well worth the time and effort.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Article submission and directory submission.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Everything takes along time and I am quite impatient. I find this frustrating at times.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I will run it for 12 months and then reassess. I think you need to give things a reasonable amount of time.
What is your website address?
