I have a lot of classmates during my secondary education who were diagnosed with ADHD. But this disorders are not hindrances for them to take good rankings in my class. Mainly because most of them used stimulants. Some physicians prescribed stimulants to people with ADHD. Most of the numbers using this drug are students. I, for one, tried using stimulants before just because I wanted to try it and also to boost my studying skills.
Many people used these drugs especially when exams are nearing. They used it to focus more on what they are doing, and because of its anti-drowsiness capabilities. Late night workers love using stimulants. I thought of it as also cool. But that was before. Not anymore.
I changed my view about stimulants about a year ago when one of my friends friend almost died, because of the wrong used of the drug. I didn't know its that dangerous. That person's body is half died due to stroke because he used the stimulant without consulting a doctor. I was lucky that I did not suffer the same fate because I also did not consult anyone before using it before.
I found that stimulants caused irritation to many people who are not used to using it. Those who has weak body mechanism that can block foreign chemicals entering the body can get more. It may also lead to depression, stomach and head aches. Obsessive abuse of the drug can cause serious threats like strokes and hypertension that may lead to heart attacks.
The problem is, some stimulants nowadays are disguising themselves as energy drinks and study boosting pills. These products are harmful for those that are not prescribed to use it, but still they are being sold freely to anyone.
That being said, I can only suggest to everyone that if its not really needed, or if it can be avoided, do not use any stimulants or any kind of drugs especially if it is not prescribed to you by a professional doctor.
