For many years, we have enjoyed 3-Dimensional (3D) platforms for entertainment. We have used this technology for games and watching movies. The last time I remember using this technology is just last week when I visited an Imax theater to watch some 3D interaction film. However, this modern 3-D technology is now not only limited to the entertainment industry. It is now starting to be use in many fields of science, aiding in medical procedures specifically brain surgery. Watch this video from CBS as Dr. Jon LaPook demonstrate how a 3mm chip can generate 3D images that will help a New York detective overcome his brain tumor that's causing him impaired vision problems.
I'm really awed at how great our modern technology can help us in many ways. Although there are some 'bad effects' of continuous technological development, there are still more good things that it causes.
Really, next time you see doctors on an Imax theater, you can tell they are just practicing to feel comfortable wearing those eye-goggles for their next 3D medical operation.
